To make Link Vault your default search engine, follow these steps.
Note: You may have to have administrator rights to do this.
- Click on this link to download the registry file.
- Internet Explorer will ask you whether to open or to save the file. Choose Open to make Link Vault your default search engine right away. (If you would like to look at the file before using it, choose Save and look at the file using Notepad.)
- After you click open, you will be asked if you really want to install this file. Answer Yes.
- Close all Internet Explorer windows and re-start the browser.
The next time you click on the Search icon in your Internet Explorer toolbar, Link Vault will appear in your search sidebar.
To restore the default settings, use this registry file instead, and follow the steps above.

By adding this "magic" bookmark to your bookmarks list or Links Toolbar, you can search Link Vault with a single click.
- Make sure your Links Toolbar is being displayed by checking Links under Toolbar in the View menu.
- Place your mouse pointer over the "Search Link Vault" link below, hold down the left mouse button and drag the link to your Links Toolbar.
- To rename the button, click on it with the right mouse button and select Rename.
Use this link:
Tip: Highlight text on a web page, then click the "Search Link Vault" button in your toolbar. The text you highlight will be automatically searched for on Link Vault!

To enable Link Vault keyword search, follow these steps.
Note: You may have to have administrator rights to do this.
- Click on this link to download the registry file.
- Internet Explorer will ask you whether to open or to save the file. Choose Open to enable Link Vault keyword search right away. (If you would like to look at the file before using it, choose Save and look at the file using Notepad.)
- After you click open, you will be asked if you really want to install this file. Answer Yes.
- Close all Internet Explorer windows and re-start the browser.
To use the keyword search, type atw followed by a space and then your query word(s) in the location bar of Internet Explorer.

By adding this "magic" bookmark to your bookmarks list or Links Toolbar, you can find a variety of information from Link Vault for any page you visit with a single click.
- Make sure your Links Toolbar is being displayed by checking Links under Toolbar in the View menu.
- Place your mouse pointer over the "Link Vault Page Info" link below, hold down the left mouse button and drag the link to your Links Toolbar.
- To rename the button, click on it with the right mouse button and select Rename.
